My new Pelikan M200 is here!!!! I also ordered Noodlers Widowmaker, Navajo Turquoise, and Saguaro Wine. I had to sit and catch my breath while I tried to decide what color should be first. hmm1.gif After a bit, the Navajo won. A wonderous writing pen. The nib and balance suit me. I hope it holds up as well as other members have. To all who post and answer noobie questions.......Thank you!!!!!

Congrats on your Pel. I just got my first one last week and it has become one of my favorite pens.

Whoopieeeeee!!!! Contrats on your Peli....I just joined the M200 club as well two weeks ago. I'd like to hear your feed back on it after a week or so on the phenomenon know as " nib creep" with the noodlers ink. I was jotting down a few notes with a cuppa joe this AM, nice morning! Enjoy!

I posted about it in this newbie thread.

Welcome to the jungle. Unfortunately, it doesn't get much better than Pelikan, so you will become addicted fast. laugh.gif

Best,

Conrats and all that. I have only an M800 and an M215 but my next two -- which I have already decided on -- are the 320 (becuse of its size for my T-shirt pockt) and a 450 (just because of its looks). Sorry, Richard!

OOPS... SORRY I FORGOT...
You write "It's here! It's here!, My 1st grownup FP". Now don't hold this against me but when you're no longer just "grownup" but already a "senior citizen" then it's simply the question (as re Pelikan) which Toledo to get first... the M700 or M900 or 1931 or just all three !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congratulations! I got one a few weeks ago, and it is the one I carry everywhere.
Enjoy!

Congrats and enjoy. My M200 was my first decent writer and I loved the Pelikan so much, I eventually bought the M800 which is a fantastic pen. You'll be hooked on Pelikan's and it's hard to find better writers.

Welcome to the club!

For me it started with an M400 and now about 85% of my collection is Pelikan (10 pels). I have not topped aquiring non Pels (for example: am collecting vintage Sheaffer Balances) but for every non Pelikan I get, 2 or three new Pelikans magically appear thumbup.gif

I will have to admit I'm loving it. I've not picked up my Safari since my Pel arrived. It's the only pen I use posted I like the balance so much. I had to stop looking at the Marketplace because I drool wanting more.

To stjimmy: I filled my Pel with Noodlers Navaho Turquoise. I have even left it lay on the table for 2-3 days without using it. I have noticed no nib creep using this color. More as I change colors in the next few weeks.

I'm afraid to look. I know in the end it will be all of them! drool.gif

Congrats, Imzadi. My M200 just arrived today too, from Todd at isellpens.com. I'm trying to savor it as I open it. It is a beautiful thing to behold for sure. I brought a bottle of Noodlers Old Manhattan for the pen's maiden voyage. As soon as I can get this flipping model tag off the clip (any hints without destroying the tag?) I'll fill it and give it a whirl. smile.gif

Wow, what a coincidence, me too! I'm so excited.

Just slide the model tag up and down until it comes off.

Tag finally came off with a little mussing about...

... but I have to tell you that Old Manhattan is insidious. Not only do I have ink on my middle finger and thumb of my left hand (seriously, I can't bottle fill a pen without inky fingers for the life of me), but it won't come off even while still fresh and with soap. LOL.

And, unfortunately, the nib creep with this ink is pretty bad. I mean NOTICABLY bad. I've never used this ink before, so maybe I'll clean out the pen and try Legal Lapis, which I'm really fond of right now.

I've never had a piston fill pen without a converter before. What's the best way to clean this pen out?

EDIT: must be the combination of pen and ink, because the ink doesn't do so badly in my friend's Picasso that I just filled for her.

Congratulations! Newbie myself, my 1st Pelikan (M200F) {and 3rd FP in first 3 weeks}
was delivered earlier this week. Bought it used, but barely as I have the May receipt.
I franticly searched cleaning procedures couple of nights ago when the piston stuck.
[Pretty sure original owner filled with Noodler's Black, possible cause for the sticking].

You probably can get no better info than what all Richard Binder offers,
including Reference Info (along left border).
