What does the date code "T7" signify? I thought I read about it somewhere, but I can't seem to find it again.
SquelchB
That would mean it was assembled in Toronto in 1947. No dots around make it the 4th quarter of 1947.

At least I think so.

David Nishimura has argued that the T stands for a pen made in the USA with a significant number of Canadian parts (since if it were assembled in Canada it would not be able to say "Made in USA" among other reasons).

Yes it would... the parts would be made in the USA... and just assembled in Canada....
To be Made in Canada the parts have to be made there...
An item assembled in the USA from totally foreign made parts can not say Made in the USA... it has to way Assembled in the USA

I also have a 51 with the T7 and three dots underneath. From what I have read that would mean the date is 1st quarter of 1947. Is that correct? Thanks for the help. If so, this would be from the same quarter and year of my birth and would be neat to me. /Craig

You're welcome wink.gif

Wish I had such a 51 as well. But there were no 51s made in 1989, I'd say... sad.gif
