Are there differences in firmness between the 18K and 14K Aurora nibs?

Anybody have experience with both?

I find the 14K nibs to be quite firm and am contemplating getting an 18K if it's got a little give to it.

No. I have many Aurora nibs and can't see any difference.

I happen to like the 14K ones more because they are easier to handle and adjust if you are a nib technician, but both the 14K and 18K nibs don't have very much noticeable difference in writing quality and feel.
