Hello
I just picked up some very handsome, smallish, Parker 51ish pens bearing the mark "HERO 132". They look right to me, but they don't sound like what I've heard described as 132s here on F.P.N. I'll post a pic of mine as soon as I can, meantime, anybody out there have something I can see?
thanks

There are pictures on the iSellPens website, in the Hero list.

I thought that might be the case but...... that site appears to be blocked by "THE GREAT FIREWALL OF CHINA" I can't get in.
Is the guy some sort of subversive?
Thanks anyway for the suggestion
Mompus
ps no, i'm not kidding; really will not open!

Can't comment on why a legitimate site is being blocked from your view. But Google has some alternatives -

http://www.waimar.com/fountainpen.htm

http://www.geocities.com/heropens/ follow Hero - Gold - Others

No idea why the Chinese gvt. is blocking the site....if indeed that's what's happening...(?), their sense of security can seem a bit ....mercurial. I am in Shanghai, by the way. The pens I found are like the ones on the "geocities" page; black sections. I found blue and gray models. Thanks for your help

Little up-date; I just came back for another look at the links posted here by "dee jay". Guess what.... now they're blocked too!

This is my 132. Decent writer, but it tends to get a bit gummed up if not used frequently. Black plastic gold colored metal.

Hmm... I hope the well-intentioned posting of this image does not cause the paranoid firewall operators
who are blocking the OP's access to such pictures to also impede his access to FPN. Sadly, if they do
we will never know about it because he won't be able to tell us...

It shouldn't. I uploaded it as an attachment so the data will come from this website, the same as any thread or post would, at least in theory anyway.

It took me all of 15 minutes to get around "the great firewall", and it would have been nothing had I been prepared before I went there. Download and install "TOR" (the onion router) which integrates nicely into Firefox. I can turn it on and off with a click in the status bar, so I only get the sloooow down when I need it, for sites such as Wikipedia.

Too bad Hero's web site isn't more useful. They could put photos of all their pens and organize them well. It seems to be just some random things there.

Hmmm... I just saw this, thanks. My 132s don't have the same barrel; Mine's pearloid (mother-of-toilet-seat) celluloid, blue or gray, with a gold "thimble" on the end. Does yours have the 12k nib?
thank you again, mompus

ps I'm traveling around China a lot so I generally use public computers; no way to end run blocks

pps forgot to mention, you can see mine on "for sale" under "3 HOODED HEROS"
Nabster
The nib on mine I don't know, I haven't taken the hood off to see, I would assume steel though. Mine is designated 132 on the cap, opposite side of the clip (and Chinese characters) just above the opening. All the other Heroes I have are designated in the same way, numbered on the cap just above the opening- 616's, a 257, a 329, etc.
