I recently received a grogeous black Sailor 1911M with a ZOOM nib.

Since, this is my nicest pen to date, and I'm normally a "keep my pen in my jeans pocket" kinda guy, I was wondering how the finish of the Sailor pens stands up to everyday use. Am I likely to get loads of scratches all over the body?
Additonally, how immune are sailors to over-tightening? Will the threads easily strip?
Am I being too paranoid? wacko.gif I'm sure the Sailors are pretty resiliant but if someone can put my fears to rest I'd appreciate that.

cheers,

Well, the pen is plastic/resin. I don't think many plastic pens (except maybe Lamy ABS plastic) would stand over-tightening.

Overall, I imagine a 1911M could take a few knocks - they are not fragile pens built for display... you will probably see a few scratches over time (and on the black especially), but if you put anything plastic into a pocket with something metal like a set of keys, you would just expect scratches.

Thanks for the comment...I guess I wasn't expecting anything different.
I'll flush it out and ink it and hopefully let you all know what I think of it.
And...it will go in my pocket!

cheers,
