Well, actually there seem to be 4 sizes of Tulip Clip pens, so the question "larger" has at least 3 answers. The largest one is 5" shy (about 4 15/16") capped...almost the same size as a gold seal side clip flat top pen. The smallest is 4" capped. The most common I see are the in between (4 1/4" and the 4 5/8") there were 2 different barrel girths too, but the larger 2 and the smaller 2 pens take the same size tulip cap Respectively.
At first I thought that maybe these 4 different pen lengths were simply the different screw down characteristics of the pens on hand, but the barrel threads are placed differently too, so that cant be the issue. We need to remember that these pens were almost all made by hand so some variations are bound to exist even if there were templated auto-copy procedures going on for maybe 5 pen barrels or caps at a time. So there is always a variety of minor dimension variations on all the pens, but not so pronounced as to explain these 4 obviously different lengths (3 for sure anyway).

This one is 4 7/8, what i believe to be the largest (larger) size. I spose it would be possible to swap in the longer barrel of a side-clip flat-top (vs MilitaryClip sized barrel) and make a longer pen still.
I have not played with as many of these as has Syd, but my vague recollection is of seeing two sizes in the catalogues.
