I want to archive my email but I get a chance to only archive up to 50 at a time. Do I archive 50, then delete these, then archive 50 more, etc? I'm thinking there is a better method and it's just slipping by me...

You're pretty much there. U Rnt Dum.

I always tell it to delete after archiving so I don't have to go and delete those 50 myself. It's perhaps a tad risky if something hiccoughs and leaves you without your archive file in your email and all the PMs deleted. But thus far I've had no problem with that. So, you can speed it up by clicking on "delete after archiving" or whatever it says. But you're still stuck with 50 at a time. Just eliminates one step.

500 total PMs stored = way, way, too few, what with a pretty clunky archiving function and all.

Limiting e-mail storage is so 2004. wink.gif Is there any way to up the total number of PMs that can be stored, or is this just a limitation of the BB software?

It always seems so simple after someone gives you the answer. In fact, it's so simple, I can put it off for a while... tongue.gif

I don't know what OS you're using, how your mail is presently stored, or how you want to access your mail. Internet mail is fairly standardised -- it has to be -- but personal preferences for user interface varies widely.

I used to used to archive my unix mail folders. They're just big text files which i'd bzip. Now i just leave my mail on an IMAP server. It's convenient, but i do need net access to get to it. There are times when i wish i had on my hard drive.

HDoug is referring to the PMs on FPN - you can only store so many on this system before you get a nasty message from the system telling you you're folders are too full. smile.gif
