Greetings!
I have a mid 1970s student MB pen. Writes great all these years. Alas, the convert died the other day. I don't have a clue where to get another. Can anyone point me at a source?
Thanks,
Bill J

Your local Montblanc boutique? And there lots of online sellers who might stock them. Or, find a decent pen-shop and take the pen in and ask them if they have a converter that will fit the pen.
I required a converter for one of my pens (it came with just cartridges) and I had no idea what kind of converter would go into said pen (of if, indeed, it would TAKE a converter!). I took it to one of my local pen-shops (for the curious, it was "Pen City" in Melbourne) and the nice man behind the counter found me out a nice converter for the pen in less than a minute.
So, failing the first two, take the third route - a reputable pen-shop which knows their stock. And it's probably a bit cheaper than going directly to MB, anyway.

Hi Bill,
as the contemporary Montblanc converters with the screw thread don't fit for the older Montblancs without the counterpart screw thread you should ask your local pen store for a "standard converter" like Waterman or Pelikan have.

The 1970s-era student- and office-grade MB pens show up on eBay quite a lot, and often at good prices. As far as I know, nobody ever bothered to fake them. Look for names like Carrera, Noblesse (earlier and more basic than the Noblesse Oblige), Slimline, SL, VIP.
