Hello all!

I have a nearly new Pelikan M1000 in black with a Medium nib custom ground into a cursive italic, with box and papers. I find that I just cannot get used to writing with the extra large, springy nib on the M1000. After some research in the Pelikan forum, I've decided that an M800 is the pen I really should have purchased.

As I said, my M1000 has only been inked once, taken to the office once, and practically never used. It is the handsome black and gold version. I custom ground the nib myself into a nice smooth cursive italic with good line variation (I've hand-ground nearly a dozen of my own pens using a fine stone, 1000 grit paper, and super-fine mylar sheets . . . they write very well if I do say so myself!) The nib writes a nice wet line, though not a gusher by any means.

I am looking for a black and gold M800 in similarly fine condition with a Broad nib as my ideal trade. If this cannot be had, I would consider an M nib, or perhaps even a blue striped M800 with a B nib. I am looking to make this a true 'straight up' trade for myself, thus I am asking for a Paypal contribution of $10 to cover my shipping cost in addition to the pen swap. I think this is a darn reasonable offer as the M1000 is several bucks more expensive than an M800 (you can count the custom nib as a benefit or a liability . . . your choice). I'm willing to make the trade, though, because I simply do not like to write with the pen so it sits at home in the case every day. And any added cash I might pocket by first selling the M1000 then buying an M800 would surely not be worth the hassle of a multi-part transactions over a simple trade.

I will take some pics of the pen and a writing sample later on this evening.

If you are interested, please drop me a PM and we can discuss . . .

Thanks!!!
