Can anyone suggest which model to choose for a daily pen? I learned that the Nelson is a heavy pen compared to a Churchill. Regarding the nib, is the fine or italic fine nib can be compared as a medium to other pen brands?

Thanks!
George Drummond
The Nelson is definitely heavier, much heavier, but it is slimmer than the Churchill and comes with either a cartridge/converter filling system or a 'twist' (internal piston) filling system. Both pens are excellent, so it really depends on the style you prefer. My choice would still be a Churchill.

Thank's George!

Well, I guess the Churchill would be a nice choice though I like the Nelson. Problem with the latter is the weight issue being much heavier. That would be a problem especially if I put the pen in a shirt pocket.

Thanks again

My Nelson with a converter, at about 47g, is only about 20g heavier than my MB 146, and I don’t notice much difference in daily use. The fine nib on my Nelson writes a line about 0.45mm with Waterman ink on copy paper.

Hi seres! Is the cap posted that is why it is heavier than your mb 146?

The Nelson is heavier than the MB 146, by about 20g. The Nelson’s extra weight is in the barrel, which has a brass sleeve insert. I find the Nelson, without the cap, very well balanced when writing (I don’t post any of my pens).
