The Diplomat is a handmade Ebonite ED pen manufactured by the Deccan Pen Stores in Hyderabad, India. Available only in Mottled Green color, it has a streamlined shape with 6 inches capped length. The section and nib-feed unit are similar to the Advocate and that makes for a very ergonomic grip.

The pen capped:

The cap unscrewed:

The cap trim-ring is made of a black ebonite ring:

The cap end-jewels made of ebonite:

I bought this pen mainly for its rich green mottled pattern and ergonomic grip. The photos are not able to convey the correct color of the Ebonite. The only thing that does not go well cosmetically with the pen is its clip, I wish the Deccan people find a better suited clip for this nice pen.

Comments are welcome.

Cheers,
Hari

Diplomat? Gotta have it! smile.gif

Is Diplomat the name of the brand or the model?

I like the wooden green effect of the ebonite. The clip desing is right for me, similar to the most famous "diplomat", the 149 by MB. Maybe I'd like a gold hardware version.

Congratulations, it is a nice (and big) pen.

Cheers,

Hi Diplomat, I have added the manufacturer's info in the original post. They are not sold on online AFAIK. You may have to contact any member from India to get you one. I did have a few on sale but they are all gone now.

Best,
Hari

I love that green ebonite, such a shame they're not available online.
