I've just found this forum, and I'm hoping you can help me.
I've been having problems with my ATX fine point FP since I bought it in April. I started by using cartridges and everything was fine for awhile, then I started getting starting and skipping problems. After doing several cleanings and getting no better performance, I sent it to Cross. After it returned, I decided that maybe it was the cartridges and bought a bottle of Waterman ink and started using the converter. I found instructions on how to fill it, and now the pen works fine; for about 10-15 mins. Then it's back to non-starting and skipping issues. If I open the barrel and give the converter plunger a twist, then it starts working again. But this seems an annoyance to have to do this every 10 - 15 minutes. Is there something I'm missing? When this writes, it's beautiful! I've owned a number of Cross FP's, and this has been the most difficult one to use. My others work fine with cartridges. Help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,
If you really want, I could fix your pen for you. I would like to see what is going on inside actually, since I never had this problem with my ATX. I think there might be a feed problem, since Cross uses a similar feed in many of their models except for the Verve and Townsend.

I'm with Dillo here, I had the exact same problem with another pen (not a Cross) and I mean exact, open it up, twist the converter, good to go for another 1/2 page, repeat. Sent it back to the dealer who replaced the feed and presto, writes like a champ.

I wonder if it's from leftover manufacturing oil.

Hey!~~ your problem is just the same as my Lamy studio pen, you just found it seems that there is no ink any more but it does have a lot of ink. You must need to twist your converter , then you can write again.
So ... now, i never use my lamy pen, but use others again.
