Zoe
Hello all,

I've been collecting pens for more than 40 years but for their beauty, and utility rather than by brand. For about 10 years, I've gifted myself a pen for my birthday. With a birthday coming up, and time to spare I started to review all the pens I own, and see if I could identify them and use them more frequently.

I identified by manufacturer all but 5 and wonder how I can get some assistance on identifying those remaining as UK (unknown). Also I don't have a clue as to their model number, their value or their potential for repair. One or two of the pens I have don't come up on an internet search.

And this certainly is a fountain pen collectors or admirers paradise, and I thank whoever created the Network.

Zoe,

Search through the boards. Post photos. People are are very helpful and I'm sure you quickly have any info you need. Enjoy the boards and welcome.
Zoe
Thanks for the welcome. Yes, I have been searching the boards--and have made some wonderful discoveries and learned quite a few fascinating pieces of information on FPs.

I will get my camera and take a few snaps of the unidentified pens this week.

I also just received two new pens 5 minutes ago--a Hero 86 and a Lamy Vista. I will have to work them in today. biggrin.gif

Hero 86---I think I did a brief review here!

Welcome.

Hi Zoe and welcome. I've got a Hero 330 and love the very fine point for making very fine, very tiny notes. Great pens for just a few dollars. smile.gif
Zoe
Greetings to you, playpan.

It does seem fun to write and draw with the Vista. I have been playing with it and like its feel.

I am near the Upper Delaware Valley where the Catskills meet the Poconos in Wayne County--a rather rural but beautiful area.

And you?

Hello Treecat, I just discovered Hero from reading this board. I have two Sailors, and like them both and thought I'd see if there is a big difference. This little Herto 86 is chunky but definitely more than worth its price. biggrin.gif

Zoe
It was your review that got me to buy the little Hero 86. I love the feel of the Sailors and thought if you compared them, buying one would be worth it--and it does on first write seem rather nice. I will have to get a better way to fill her though, I had ink all over my hand last night. I have a call in for a filler today. biggrin.gif

Many thanks for the review.
