Stock cap but a few changes on the barrel.

Threads on the end for the final to remove to use the converter and threads for the section.

Is the converter mounted permanently?

Yes it is as I wanted one that would not leak or fall out on me.

Interesting approach, Chris. Did you make the green piston end for the converter?

I wish but no I found it in my parts box and thought the green matched perfect. I used the new tap m10 .75 for the blind cap and it all worked out real good.

What are multi start taps? Where did you find them?

Thanks

The multi-start taps were sourced from E-taps in Florida. The IAP guys did a group buy, as they are special order and buying them as one-offs is outrageously expensive. They are 3 start threads, 12 mm, and allow you to get rid of the insert in the cap and the corresponding male threaded piece on the barrel.

Cool I have ordered a tap and die 12m 0.8 single start to give it a shot. What size hole should I have for the tap and what size for the barrel?

Thanks
fountainbel
For tapping a metric M12x0.8 you need a bore of 11.13 mm or 0.4382" (formula D - ( 1.0825x pitch)
The male part is made to the nominal diameter, being 12.00 mm in your case.
