Full Version: Help! Broken cap on a Pelikan M200

I have a number of Pelikan M200s, which have served me well over the years. On the whole, I've found that they're built like tanks, have all the features I look for in a fountain pen, and yet are remarkably affordable.

Unfortunately, during my vacation, a little over a week ago, I managed to break one. It's a "transparent red demonstrator" version of the current M200 design (i.e., with the logo button an integral part of the inner cap, rather than being the nut that holds the cap parts together), and the inner cap has broken off between the clip and the nut.

Temporarily, I've got an "old style" M200 cap (from a barrel that I actually managed to wear out) on the pen. Unfortunately, it's not a perfect fit, and I'm sure it will eventually damage the barrel threads.

I've managed to disassemble the cap into the main body (with gilded trim-ring), clip, nut, and the two broken pieces of the inner cap.

Chartpak wants me to send in the entire pen for repair, and they won't sell me a replacement inner cap.

Has anybody got a spare inner cap for a current-model Pelikan M200? It doesn't have to be the clear inner cap used in the "transparent demo" pens; I'd gladly take a plain black inner cap.

Hi,

I'd actually recommend sending the whole pen to Chartpak since they are reliable. smile.gif

Good luck in finding the part!

Sequel:

Over 2 1/2 months later, the repair I did on my M200 is still holding, and still hard to see, even if you know it's there.

On the other hand, the brown paint on my penbashed Pelikano started rubbing off almost immediately.
