i have got a dunhill sidecar turtoise shell fountainpen with 18k gold nib, after compared with montblanc pen, i just noticed that the feed is exactly a montblanc feed and the nib is polished like a montblanc nib.

i remember i have read some post here that people say dunhill sidecar is a montblanc made fountain pen, but i can not find those post now. i am wondering if it is true or not?

by the way,
i have noticed that under the clip of this pen, you can find a "Germany M" mark for this model.

Apparently Dunhill owns Montblanc and some other pen companies, I'll have to look that up again. It wouldn't suprise me at all if they were using common parts but I thought the manufacturing was seperate.

Since you are obviously THE authority on the matter I really shouldn't argue the point, but what the heck, you only live once!

In 1977 Dunhill acquired a majority shareholding of Montblanc and then took over the company in 1985. Dunhill is party of Richemont AB Swiss Luxury Good group that holds a range of high-end pen lines that includes Cartier, Dunhill, Montblanc, Piaget and Montegrappa.

Edited because for every ending I just see an opportunity for a new beginning.

It's not the first time that Montblanc makes pens for Dunhill. The slim "Classic" line of Dunhill in the 80' was made in Hamburg for Montblanc and had the same nib (but with another engraving) the same feed and grip section (whole front part) as the Montblanc Noblesse of the same years.
(BTW, the feed and nibs of the AD2000 line of Dunhill were made by Pilot.)

About the dispute of Dunhill's ownership of Montblanc: Yes, Montblanc was owned by Dunhill for about 10 years but then Richemont took over the shares of Dunhill and since then Montblanc is a sister company of Dunhill (and Montegrappa and Cartier and .....).

thanx for the information all above,

yes, i know dunhill AD2000 is made by pilot, because the converter is totally different from this one,

besides, i have also noticed one thing, for the dunhill sidecar pens, the barrels and caps are made differently, some of them made in germany, so under the clip you can find 'germany' mark, and i also find a black resin edition, it is a swiss made, or like the friend above said his/her sidecar is made in france.

but the nibs are totally the same.
