I'd like to give a nice Bright Red Parker 45 with a smooth & crisp ground Italic nib.
I'd like to give it as a prize for penmanship or calligraphy or somethin' artsy. I'd like to suggest Psalm 45 verse 1 since this is a 45! Any translation/version you like.
So, if you think it would be fun, write something, add it to this post by midnight on Sunday June 8th and I will choose a winner on Monday and post it at noon, and ship the prize.
For some reason my uploads aren't working at this time, so you can see the prize on my last post in Market Watch.
enjoy ~

I wasn't familiar with that verse so I had to google, hopefully I got the right one. Just my basic standard handwriting here written with a 51, nothing fancy.

Thank you

It's Parker Quink Blue-Black. The scan is bad, it looks better on the paper.

Very nice italic. What ink did you use? It shades wonderfully.

Can I congratulate caliken on his impending victory, followed by admiration of the modesty with which he says that really everyone else was far, far better than him?
Assuming he enters of course.
I shall enter when I have some paper that is large enough.

Ink is Diamine Golden Brown - it looks even better on the paper. The writing looks better too - when its not soo BIG.!!

I know what you mean

It resembles Chancery italic a bit. Very nice, although I find it a little hard to read.

Really nice Callie ~ .... arresting.
I'm really impressed with all the response. Notice, I have had the good wit not to put my hand to the test. I'd rather admire.

I love the fact there are different translations being used..... as well as the colours and the script.

This event is still open 'til midnight.
Still time to share your expressive penmanship.
Thanks for all entries, which are all quite wonderful each in their own way.
Anyone want to suggest a winner??

I just stumbled on this thread a second ago, and its almost midnight...... <instant replay> He grabs a pad of paper, and the closest FP in reach, (happens to be my Parker Vector chillin on the bed beside me) and gets to writing.... I kinda wish I would of found this thread earlier, I would have liked to play around with some different scripts. (latest Iv been working on is left handed mirror script, Im right handed though)
Here is my quick scribble. All minuscule lettering, just cause I liked it better for this case. Not my best work, but I just wanted to submit something, haha

Damnit, I read the 8th as 15th... suppose I only have myself to blame.

Were there just four entries? It sounds as if there were more at some point.

Congratulations, Trevor. Your Spencerian is wonderful.

Thanks SquelchB...
not sure I would call the strange mix I did as Spencerian... I can never seem to get those reverse turns on the capitals right... I think it is closer to a personalised version of copperplate... or plain old fashioned English styled cursive
