A friend of mine hates his Montblanc Meisterstuck ballpoint. Don't get me wrong he loves the pen he just hates the ball point refill. Every time he has to start a swirly to get it going , a problem he never had he claims with his cross. Which leads me to my question can you load another refill into the Meisterstuck?

I'll end with the fact I know that this is the FPN, please don't hate the question just hate the Ballpoint. I'm was gonna tell him to just chuck the thing on EBay and get a FP. Surely the FPN can think of a better solution.

Its not the pen's fault the refill is probably old and/or the ink in it has dried out.. maybe where he's buying the refills from they carry old stock, but it has nothing to do with the pen or its mechanism.. let him try purchasing ballpoint ink refill from a different store and give it a go..

Yeah, just go to an office supply store. They'll have something.

Here in Europe you can not !!!
Except for the Mozart all Montblanc ballpoints have the special sized refill and no other refill than the Montblanc refill will fit.
If another refill than the original will fit into a Montblanc the pen probably is a fake.

Jimmy, if your friend tries a fine (F) refill in blue I'm sure he will be pleased.

This is just a faulty refill - take it back to the shop and get an exchange. They normally work beautifully.

If he really doesn't want it - what's his price?

Or try Yafa. I know they make MB BP refills. I haven't tried any, so I can't attest to their quality, but its a lot cheaper.

If you look around some, you can find Fisher Space Pen refills that fit Mont Blanc pens (google search: fisher space pen refill montblanc).

The refill is pressurized so it'll work even in space, and the ink has all kinds of permanence and features.
