Not sure if the plastic was the problem or trying to get away with no brass parts at all. Threaded the body with a m10 1.0 thread to take the section. Nothing but chipping and cracking.

It's tough material to work with. I've been experimenting with a tap and die set, and got good results using lots of light oil. FWIW

I read about using oil but then how do clean the oil off off of the plastic when you are all done. I has wanted to try using oil when drilling to try and get a cleaner drill hole as well but was afraid that I could not glue them after because of the oil.

I wipe it down with mineral spirits, then soap and water. I've had no problems to date.

Great I will give it a try. What do you turn on? A wood or metal lathe? Did you check out the taps, I get mine this am.

Thanks

I turn on a Jet VS Mini. I have the multi-start tap and die set. So far, I've not done anything with them except experiment.
