Just got back from this mornings carboot sale and
here is one of my finds.
I know nothing about Esterbrook but it was cheap and looked interesting.
It's english made and it appears to be hard rubber.
Can anyone share any information about it?
That's a beaut! The Relief pens were made for Esterbrook in England by Conway Stewart in the 1930s. That pen would originally have been fitted with an Esterbrook oblique Relief No.1 nib in 14ct.Is it still there?
If so ,you are lucky. The No.1 Reliefs I have are some of my best writers.
A working good condition BCR Relief No.1 (ie not oxidized, crisp chasing ,no cracks, red cap band intact etc) with its original nib might fetch up to £80-85 in my experience.
My BCR Relief came from Jonathan Donahaye's collection and is one of my best pens.
