Hi everyone,
I was curious to know which Ball Point pens can make use of the readily availabe Fischer Space Pen Refill. I believe that at least some Parkers can but was curious about other brands such as Montblanc or Waterman.
Thanks!

It depends on which refills you're talking about. There are the short fat ones that fit the bullet pen and then the ones that fit their multi pens and look like regular ball point refills (which i've had spotty experiences with).

Either really... Though since the longer/skinnier one is a fine point I'd be looking into the fatter one since its bold. Could you please elaborate on your spotty experiences? I need a ball point for practical purposes and was advised in another post to stick with ones that use the Fischer refills. Makes sense to me... I don't want to spend alot on an attractive and balanced ball point and be stuck with a crappy common denominator ball point insert.
Any help is greatly appreciated!

IMO best pen to use a regular Fisher refill in is the Sensa ballpoint. You can get these for greatly reduced online pricing, more in the $10-15 range. Great selection of colors and finishes. Comfortable plasmium grip.
Second best is an actual "Fisher Space Pen," At my local bricks and mortar store, I recently saw a new display of several classic finishes that makes me guess that Fisher has re-issued several of its old classic designs. The AG-7 is the actual model they used on the Apollo moon missions - all chrome with vertical stripes and with a click dot on the side of the cap to retract the point. The other classic style has a grid pattern; this one is longer and narrower than the AG-7. Fisher pens are nothing special with regard to fit and finish, but they do last - decent workmanship.
The actual Fisher refill is a good thing. Rarely skip, you can write on walls and they last forever without going bad. I am still using them in some pens where the refills date from the late 80s.
I used to work for a little ad agency in Chicago that had the Fisher account for a short while. We helped them launch the Futura model in 1983. Nice looks, not terribly durable. The older models that were based on chrome over brass were better.
Hope this helps.

I have a Montblanc BP. It takes a certain Fisher refill that is not made anymore (#SMB4F, #SMB1, #SMB1F are some stock numbers). I stocked up on them and have about 25. The thing is, I don't use the pen! However, their shelf life is 100 years, so I might use them some day.
The point being, the normal Fisher does not fit in the MB. As I recall, the shoulder near the tip of the refill interferes with the structure inside the pen. I actually physically tried this out in a pen store with a rather knowledgeable sales person. This is likely your best bet to get a solid answer if you are not sure. I happened to find a store that stocked a wide range of pens and the Fisher refill so we spent some time!

e-motion range (ballpens) from Faber-Castell, with the plastic adapter that makes the refill parker-like.
