I have been spending a lot of time reading some verying intersting posts. One referenced an recent discussion of the different renditions of nibs. Can anyone lead me to those threads? I have not been able to use the search feature to find them. I have had a 146 for some time and the nib is all gold colored. I remember when I bought it many years ago it seemed very soon after that the nibs were showing two colors. I was disappointed because I was a little envious and a reinvestment was out of the question. I already had a Noblesse and I wanted this wider body. Both are great performers for me. I was just curious to follow the history and maybe date my pen.

The 146 was produced in celluloid as part of the Meisterstuck line with rounded ends up until 1959. Production stopped until sometime in the mid-70's, when it was produced in plastic with the single-tone nib (and I think MB USA marketing called it the "Classic" while they were calling the 149 the "Diplomat"). Sometime in the mid-80s they changed the single-tone nib to the two-tone.

I haven't seen definitive years for the later introductions/changes.
