I just bought what I believe is a Montblanc 142 from ebay (I thought I put in a good maximum bid for a 149) the seller didn't know what kind of Montblanc it was and the picture was close up without any comparisons and she did say it was marked 142 and -OM on the part piston cap. Anyway from reading the FAQ here I think it is a 142 last made in the 1950's but no picture elswher that I've looked at to confirm it is indeed a 142. could anybody direct me to a picture?
here is the link to the picture in e-bay http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?viewI...em=180245056050
This is now the smallest of my pens and I've been using it so I might keep it.
Thanks in advance for answering.

Congratulations on a nice celluloide Montblanc Meisterstück 142 from the 50'.

Thanks Alex
It does look very cute besides the 149.
Did Montblanc make any smaller than this? and are there any other piston fillers smaller than this?

You got a very nice pen for an excellent price--particularly if the piston seal is in working condition. The 1950s model 142 compares to the 1930s model 132 of the Meisterstück quality, and of this quality level, no smaller pens were made. However, there are many models from the '20s & '30s that are much smaller.

The web site Axel referenced, http://www.fountainpen.de , has more information on them.

Very nice acquisition indeed! For less than 200USD, a vintage MB of quality is hard to find. I have a vintage 144 which writes like a wonder (literally, like a fountain). And it has been my daily writer for some time. Most importantly, the piston still works well and hold a significant amount of ink. happyberet.gif
