#2 son, who is generally very good with his stuff, is having a spate of bad luck with his phone

We're trying to get him through the summer on the cheap since he's due for a new phone in August.

Oh, the battery wasn't dead; it just got lost when the phone fell out of his pocket on a roller coaster. They found the phone, which remarkably was fine except for the lost battery, so I paid for a new one.

Then 2 weeks later, one of his friends was horsing around and grabbed the phone, leaving a thumbprint on the screen and the rest of the screen is a pretty fractal design.
