Very pretty!

Thank You Trying to not use the brass tubes as I find that they take away from the color of the pen.

Cheers

Very nice.
Have you considered polishing up some aluminium tubes? It may actually enhance the colour by reflected near white light back.

Richard.

From you that means a lot. Thanks

Love your local beer Kilkenny.

Great work! It will be a well-cherished pen, for sure.

And it has my favorite color.

Nice touch with the custom finial.
What is the method of attachment?
Did you turn down the "kit finial" and add the resin or did you drill a hole and glue it on?
Tapped for the threads?

This one I drilled a hole and glued in the small brass piece and turned it from there. The next one I will try threading it and see how that works out. I heated up the kit finial and then I was able to remove the brass out of it. Always trying to advance myself. Would to someday go kitless and do everything except the section and clip.

Ahh. There you may have me. I have a metalworking lathe and a small foundry. If I need a bit of aluminium, I fire up the furnace, make a hole in some sand and cast a blank that's a bit bigger than I want, and turn/mill/shape it down to size.

I've seen in DIY stores in the UK some aluminium tube that's 6mm & 10mm OD, and rod that's 12mm OD. If you have a mtalworking lathe the rod would be perfect. Failing that, model engineering suppliers should do it. I don't know any in the US, but I do know there are a good few.

Have you tried painting the insides of the material white before gluing tubes in? I know many pen makers use this method to keep their brass from showing.
Eagle
CSUSA has nickel silver tubes available for some of their components.
I have never been a fan of painting either the tubes or inside of blank.
A glue joint is as strong as its' weakest link and glueing to paint doesn't appeal to me.
I do not use solid wood or acrylics in my pens as the are mostly glue ups.
I do realize that many do use the technique of painting tubes or the inside of blanks but it is not for me.
For those that do, good luck.
I'll stick with powdercoat.
