Recently, Ryan sent me this Parker 51, cos I'd never even held one before. Now that I've been using it for about a week or so... Ryan will probably not get it back. Ha ha ha! (I kid! Ryan! Joke!)










What a fabulous writer it is. Srsly.

Ha ha! What ink did you settle on using in it?

Folks, her first note to me asked, "Are they all this dry?"

Now she calls it a fabulous writer, so either she's been sucked in like many of the rest of us, or she's settled on a good ink for it.

At any rate, I'm glad she's enjoying it!

That's the "Nakaya 51", actually. Anyone notice that I ground the clip off?

Still have a trick or two up my sleeve for potentially making this one look a little nicer...maybe. Not sure if it'll fit yet.

Nice 51. I tried as many 51s as I could but that is not a pen for me because it is too thin, its nib is too stiff and lacks flex and because I am not into hooded nibs.

Ether - I hear that this one's going to be a keeper for you after all. Congrats on your first 51! They are wonderful - I'm annoyed I was into pens for 38 years before I tried/got one!

I tried only this one, but I guess I like stiff, hooded nibs.

So far, I don't have any interest in trying other 51s.

That is not a challenge, by the way.

I've been into pens for about as long... well, fountain pens for just over twenty years. I tried and tried to send the pen back (I did!), and I couldn't even manage to flush the ink. So Ryan and I came to an understanding. He was very nice about it. Ha ha ha!
