As the title says, any chance of getting a UK sales forum?

The last 4 purchases I've now made from the states have all been hammered by import duties, which has now made me determined to avoid overseas sales (unless absolutely necessary). I'm averaging around 25% increase once duty and handling etc has been paid. crybaby.gif

I would therefore like to know if anyone else would also be happy to see a uk based sales forum. One thing i've noticed more recently, is that many people don't state where they are located, which also makes any decisions equally frustrating, let alone time consuming to find out.

thanks

Bren,
Actually the majority of sellers state what US shipping is and Int'l will be at a higher price... all it takes is a PM to ask if you are not sure...

Thanks, I appreciate the comment.

I think I might have misaligned my point a bit. I would like to see a UK sales forum, as it would make life easier when trying to find UK sellers to buy from.

Being located in Germany, I have the same problem and would thus welcome a European sub-section of the "For Sale" forum.

It's not the price that the US sellers charge that causes problems, we all expect to pay more for shipment to the UK and this is usually clearly stated anyway. It's the additional import duties etc that are charged that hurts. I have avoided buying two items recently that I saw on eBay because the price will be almost doubled by the import duties and the additional fee (theft) by the British Post Office.

I would love to buy from the US but do not want to be ripped off anymore by the system in the UK, so a European sub-section of the "For Sale" forum sounds like a great idea.

I understand your concerns... and did not realize it was that bad...
I get a small amount of my pens from overseas on eBay and to date (crossing fingers) have never been nailed for customs...
In fact this past week I had pens arrive from South Africa and England and have 2 more coming from England...

I can see where having a subforum where sellers from outside the US can post as being useful to you..
They could also post in the usual selling forum also...

Yes it would be great to see the Euro sub-section. It'll save me endless emails asking where the seller will ship from...
