While I use a fountain pen most of the time, there are times that I do need a pencil and a ball point pen. Mainly when I am out in the field in the weather. It always seems to rain when I go fishing, camping, hunting, etc. So for my journal needs I use Rite in the Rain paper and now my Cross Tech 3 pen. One pen that allows me to have both a pencil and two pens in one instrument. It appears to be well made, writes as well as any other ball point, and the option of having two diffierent color ball points in one pen is a nice feature. It comes with both a fine point black and a fine point red.

I bought it on a ebay site for only $25. So the price was right.

As time goes on, I will update this thread with how the pen works in the field.

I have been told that it will accept Fisher universal refils, with which I will also experiment.

I don't know about the Fisher refills but it will accept Lamy multipen refills which come in black blue red and green as well as a pretty useless orange highlighter.

They also fit my old rotring 4 way pen - which is just as well now that rotring are only making drafting pens.

I have one of these pens and I must say that is a very well made pen. FYI the Lamy refills write so smooth. Right now I have a Rotring Blue refill and a Lamy red and I find myself writing more with the red just because it writes so smooth.
