Hey everyone, Finally decided to get a decent pen after so many years. I registered here about a year ago, never posted till now.

Thanks

I'm thinking about the Pelikan m200. Good choice?

Welcome! Yes, the M200 is a very good pen.

Hello and welcome aboard the FPN! smile.gif The M200 is a great pen, but I am not exactly happy with the steel nib that it comes with. If you can afford it, please either go with the M400, or buy your pen from Richard Binder. He can customize the nib on the M200 so it will write better, or even replace it with a gold one. cloud9.gif

Welcome to FPN.
I hear nothing but great things about Pelikans. In fact Pelikan is on my dream list, though not sure yet which one. So many pens, so little time...even less money headsmack.gif
Hope you enjoy your time here PPP. I look forward to your posts...and let us know what you decide on in terms of your pen purchase. Good luck!

cheers

Very good, being the M400 even better. Welcome!.

Hi there. A great user name you have.

As re Pelikan I was rather peeved about the quality and/or manufacturing quality control. Everbody here (well, at least 90% of the folks) rave about the "high quality" of Pelikan etc but my nib was very unsmooth and had almost no flow.
However, the store I bought it in let me replace the nib with a better one.

Sooo... my words here on Pelikan:
... Don't buy any Pelikan without first having tried out a wet run with it.

Welcome and yes, Pelikan is a great choice. I have found all of their pens to be fabulous. My only issue of note was having the tiny 320 fall apart in my hands. It seems that there was a glue malfunction (I am so not kidding) and the company was well aware of this fact. They had it back to me exactly one week after I sent it to them to be re-glued so it was no problem at all.

Welcome!

I am amazed at the change in my attitude about decent pens. It was not that long ago that I looked at a $20 blister-packed pen and thought it was too much. A couple of weeks ago I got my new M600 w/ a custom nib. roflmho.gif

I have an M200, and it's been really great. For a sub-$100 pen, you really can't go wrong with it. I second the advice to buy from a nib-meister who will smooth and adjust your pen for you before he sends it out. Pelikans are a good brand in general, but every brand seems to have its ups and downs. A knowledgeable seller taking the guess-work out is a real benefit.
