This update offers two new models....and a
new finish for a third. We have also
restocked a number of favorites from China,
which sold out quickly last time.
Rather than write my usual introduction here
(it's a holiday, after all),
let's just move on to the pens directly!
On the blog....More Funny 'Fruit'.

Monteverde MEGA Mini
Congressional ethics. Firm
estimate. Open secret. Paid
volunteer. JUMBO shrimp. Now,
added to the long list of oxymorons we have
Mega Mini.
Available in two versions...a fountain pen
with one of the smallest nibs you've
seen...and a twist-action ballpen, the Mega
Mini carries on the hugely successful Mega
shape and balance, this time in two very
diminutive pens.
Let's see if you can pick out the two Mini
pens from the photo.

Baoer Black Rectangles

They say that imitation is the sincerest form
of flattery. The Baoer Black Rectangles model
may remind fountain pen collectors of a
certain German pen, costing about 20 times
the price of this one. Unlike knockoffs
however -- which attempt to mislead a
customer with an exact duplicate of a more
expensive pen and sell it as the original --
it's not claiming to be anything other than a
Chinese homage. It's clearly marked 'Baoer'
on the clip ring, and its floating logo is
clearly not a snowcap! :-)

Jinhao Gray Plasma

The Plasma series of pens sold out very
quickly last time. I was able to restock the
Gray, but the Blue and Black versions are
currently unavailable.

Monteverde Charisma

After a run of about 8 years, Monteverde has
retired the Charisma fountain pen, as well as
the older patterns of the convertible pen
(ballpen, gel and capless rollerball refills
included).
I purchased what little stock remained of both.
The Charisma convertible has long been my
favorite non-fountain pen, and it seems I
always have one in my pocket or on my desk,
ready to serve. It's a sleek and very
comfortable design.

Jinhao IChing Bronze

(Bronze is on the left)
The IChing model returns as well, but this
time with a third finish -- Bronze.
There's a fairly subtle distinction between
the Gold and the new Bronze versions. The
Bronze is a bit darker and has an aged,
two-toned look to it. The Gold is uniformly
gold, and a bit brighter in appearance.

DUKE Green Mako

As there's no longer a U. S. importer for
DUKE pens (she retired to have a baby!),
obtaining them is somewhat hit or miss.
So, I have the green Mako back in stock after
a long hiatus...and recently sold out of the
others!

Bookworm Yellow Filigree

Last, but certainly not least (these sold out
faster than any other pen I've carried, and
had the longest waiting list) -- the Bookworm
Yellow Filigree.
Again, please read my comments on its webpage
about 'fit & finish' issues with these pens,
but nonetheless they're a terrific value.

On the Blog...Funny 'Fruit'

Several years ago I posted a series of photos
of 'Funny Fruit'. Here we have more creative
endeavors in that category (although they're
not all fruit).
When you go to the blog entry, you'll see
links to two other collections of photos.
Also, please note that you can click on the
photos to enlarge them.
