Nope!

after my experience with the national envelope contest I don't think so.

I was thinking of trying it... though I've *thought* about it for the last couple years and have yet to actually do it (big procrastinator here).

Kurt, which envelope contest is that? The Graceful Envelope by the Washington Calligrapher's Guild? Or is there another that I don't need to know about?! biggrin.gif

What is the national envelope contest about? I might try out the contest for handwriting. Just copy a paragraph...it's easy to do. I'll just mail it off and forget about it. I don't think I'm going to win, but I just want to try.

Yep the graceful envelope contest. There were some amazing eyepopping winners but also some that looked like a baboon got hold of a box of crayons that also 'won'. I put my entry somewhere between the two and was disheartened.

I saw some of the winners' entries from last year (I think) quite recently. Suffice it to say, that I have a long way to go. But I like targets though... so you never know, sometime in the future perhaps...

It's so cool that there's all these contests in the States - handwriting, envelope, spelling (I just discovered this and my wife, who grew up in Madison, told me that spelling is a big thing!) cool.gif

Am I the only one who thinks the doctors' before examples look better than the after examples here? I suppose I am biased by being a physician, but the befores look more fluid, expressive, and unique to me. The afters look less mature.

This is what I am referring to BTW, in case anyone missed it above ---> http://learn.to/handwrite

Couldn't get that far as soon as I heard the tinny midi music I stopped. Life's too short to listen to that! laugh.gif

I use Firefox and have the plugin disabled, so no tinny music for me!

The "before" definitely looks like every single doctor's handwriting. I swear, people with those handwriting are born doctors or all doctors go through a handwriting ritual to make them all look the same. Equal care for all patients = equal reporting for all patient records smile.gif

I like the after better.
