I just got 2 Cross FPs on ebay, a Solo and an ATX. Sounds like both pens have a reputation for being "wet" writers. I could use some suggestions for some different inks that others have had good results with. Blacks, greens and maroons especially. Thanks

DeaconKC:
I've had very good luck with Private Reserve inks in my Cross pens - including an ATX. The PR inks are "highly saturated" inks and I've heard of them causing clogging issues in some brands. I've never had that problem with any of my Cross models.
My personal preference is for the bright blues (American Blue is my favorite) but their black works well in these pens also.
Cheers!

hi there
I am ink mad and use a selection from Herbin, Noodlers, Caran d'Ache, Cross and Lamy. I'm happy to report that they all work brilliantly with my Cross pens (all six of them!). Particular favourite inks include Caran d'Ache Caribbean Sea for a really unusual turquoise/green and Diamine Jade, which is a fresh green.
Hope you have fun trying all the different inks!

I have a Cross Solo with a B nib that makes PR Black Cherry ink just zing!

Thanks for the input. Sounds like I've got to call for a sampler from Pear Tree.

Pelikan inks work very well. In fact Pelikan makes inks for Cross, but they offer a larger variety in color under their own name.
