So I just bought a Meisterstück Classique 144 from the marketplace, at what I think is a fair price, if not really good. But information about this model is scarce... From what I gather, it looks to be the equivalent of what's now called the "Hommage a` Mozart" (judging from it being a c/c filler, having a 14K nib instead of 18K, and being the smallest of the lot). Can anyone provide a bit more info? Like, for example, more specific dimensions (or a comparison to a Pelikan M400, Lamy Studio, Parker 51, etc...), writing experience, and anything else you can think of? Also, the pen I got has an M nib. How broad/wet are MB's M nibs? And how easy would it be for me to swap with someone for an F nib if I decide the M is too broad?
Thanks in advance for your input!

Here is a list of pens I have. If you can provide a size comparison between a 144 and any of those, I would be most grateful!

The 144 and the Mozart co-existed for a few years. I suppose that MB thought that making 2 very similar pens didn't make much sense and they dropped the 144. Earlier 144s have a plastic screw section, and the later ones are metal.

The Mozart is actually a 114, not a 144. I don't know all the pens you have, but I'd guess a Sonnet is the closest to the 144.
Here's a 144 with a Pelikan M600-series pen.

Here's a 114-series pen with a Cross Townsend BP and a Montblanc Starwalker:

Oh, and the Mozart-sized pen is cartridge ONLY -- it's too small for MB's converters. So if you got a cartridge/converter pen, it's the larger size.

I got the pen today. Slimmer than I expected, but I like that. Haven't decided whether or not I like the medium nib yet. It's a bit wider than my usual fare, but not my first medium nib, either.

I went to a pen boutique the other day and saw a sterling silver Solitaire Classique. I was told it is in the 144 size and the barrel is much slimmer than the 145, but fatter than the 114.
