1. The Platinum PMB-5000 is sometimes called a Workhorse because of it's durability mix of stainless steel and alloys. These pens have a 14K white gold medium nib. I don't think you'll be disappointed with the smoothness and reliability of these pens. Each pen is NOS made directly for the Japanese Market and are difficult to find in the States. I have Six mediums available for purchase!

2. The way to identify a Japanese medium nib is by a rectangle separated by a line right down the middle. Feed and collector is also a clear smoke color. Very neat to look at while writing! Easy care, and dependable. Each Platinum comes with a spare black ink cartridge and a converter for bottled ink.

MSRP is $130.00. Ridiculous! For a 14k white gold rough and tumble pen!? FPN member price is $80.00, shipping included. I don't want to add on a charge for shipping since it doesn't feel right to me.

5. I recommend if you chose to use your Platinum converter to remove the gold band attached since it can get stuck in the sleeve. No performance changes occurs while in use.

I am a new person to fountain pens and have not heard of platinum. Is there any place to see mpore pictures and verify that this is a !30 dollar pen? How do you obtain these and is their any type of warranty? Thank you.

Passion 4 pens has one. There hasn't been any of these pens for sale since 2006 as far as I know.
