Hello!
My name is Saku Laitinen, I live in Lahti, Finland.
I wouldn't call myself a collector, but I currently own 3 fountain pens:

-Waterman Philéas (brand new)
-Parker Frontier (1996)
-Ballograf gold-plated fountain pen (the whole cap and barrel looks like golden) made in Sweden (bought in 1996), writes very smooth, fine line

Unfortunately there are very few fellow collectors or anybody actually using a fountain pen in my country. So I am very glad to have found this forum smile.gif

Best wishes,

Saku

Welcome Saku. I was lucky enough to be in Helsinki this past August. Acidentally landed right in the middle of some pre-olympic games!

I have my picture posted on this board in front of the Sibelius monument.

Welcome smile.gif. I'm fairly new here myself but it seems a friendly place (unlike....no, I won't go there).

You into smoky tea by any chance? I'm enjoying a nice cup of Darjeeling at the moment smile.gif9.

Hello, nice to meet you!

Yes, the smoky Lapsang Souchong is one of my favourite teas. Drinking fine tea and writing with fine pens marries well smile.gif

Hi Saku and welcome to FPN! biggrin.gif

When I think of Finland, I often think of the great hockey players from there (like Saku Koivu, Teemu Selanne, etc.)! I live in Vancouver, Canada and was pleased to be able to attend a few games at the recent World Junior's (Under 20) Championships held in my hometown this year. The Finns did very well this year, winning the Bronze medal by defeating the team that many thought would win the tournament---the U.S. In the end, Canada took home the Gold and the Russians got the Silver, but it was nice seeing the Finnish team play (they have a great goaltender) smile.gif

Anyway, I hope you enjoy the site! The pens that you have are very reliable and highly recommended "starter" fountain pens. I would love to see a photo of the Ballograf ® fountain pen; I have a Ballograf ballpoint, but no fountain pen....
