I am intrested in getting a little more info on the Pilot Justus. I think it came out in the 1970's
I am curious if the adjustability is significant

If it is does anyone know where I could find one (besides posting in the Marketplace) and a price range.

Thanks

You can also try looking on Green board (Pentrace) or ebay. Iirc, a Justus sells for $400-$500 depending on the condition.

The Pilot Justus is a very interesting pen. However, The adjustable nib seems something more of a gimmick than a real feature. It turns a pen with semi-flex into a nail with no flex.

Having said that, the pen is still a wonderful dependable writer with a sleek design. I love the fluted cap and barrel and I use one of these in my daily pen rotations. Nearly all of them that you find are black, but once several years back, I found a red one. Prices tend to range between $400 and $600 for them on ebay.

Golly Gee!
Just look at those prices.

I'm as much a capitalist as the next but, don't sell them for anything near that.
I must be doing something wrong!

Send me an email for your best price ever.

How solid is the Justus? Does it have a weighty, substantial feel to it? How would you describe the quality of the barrel material? Also, what was the original MSRP for this pen? I'm just curious if it was priced relatively high, had somewhat scarce production, and possibly the unusual adjustable nib are responsible for the high prices they are fetching today. I've heard the Sailor equivalent for adjustable nibs provides a greater range of nib firmness/flexibility.

The Justus is a very solid pen. Not too heavy, but not light. It doesn't feel like a cheap pen when you pick it up. The original price was 10,000 yen. I haven't tried a Sailor adjustable, so I do not know how they compare, but I wouldn't recommend a Pilot Justus if your only reason for wanting one is that it has an adjustable nib. It is fun to play with and to show off, but doesn't affect the nib's flex all that much.

The last one I sold on ebay went for $355 I started the auction at $1 with no reserve... so that isn't my price, that is the value that the bidders gave this pen.
