Hi: just picked up an italian made, gold-filled (Laminato) hooded nib, parker 51-type pen. I've seen safety overlays and similar pens on ebay, with one seller claiming this was made by Montegrappa.

Lacking the reference materials, does anyone know if that is simply seller hype? Is this just another small artisanal Italian pen manufacturer? thanks.

I don't know either, and I have a Zenith vac knock-off.

Hi. Zenith is a minor italian pens brand, but rather than a manufacturer, Zenith ordered its production to other pen companies and this why it is possible to find some Zenith overlays with Montegrappa mark. Ciao, Giuseppe

btw, guiseppe: is the Montegrappa logo (in the 50's) an "M" inside a triangle?

Stephen, I am not so expert in Montegrappa pens, but as far as I know the mark on the overlays made by Montegrappa
factory in Bassano was a small triangle with M and G inside, the triangle had rounded vertex. Ciao Giuseppe

Indeed it is. Actually inside the triangle there is a big "M" and a small "g" underneath.

You can see an example of that "logo" in the first picture I posted in this thread (click on the pic to have it bigger):

In the second post of the thread there is the explanation of the Montegrappa logo.

Cheers,

Andrea
