I've only used Mont Blanc inks (blue) in my pens since the beginning. I would like to switch to Noodler's Bay State Blue and Nikita Red. Will these inks perform well in my pens and what precautions should I take before and/or after should I want to change back?

Thanks for the help.

Writer,

BSB is a beautiful ink, it really does just pop off the page. Hopefully you have read the endless posts in the "Inky Thoughts" and "Ink Reviews" subforums here at FPN........it stains...fingers, toes, counters, clothes....PENS!... I bought two bottles when it first came out. My first one is still 4/5 full. I love the ink but hate the hassel. I use it now in a Waterman Phileas w/ converter..a $35 pen. I wouldn't use it in any of my Montblancs (my collection is mainly vintage with some 60's/70's #149's and 80's 146's also). Not for fear of true damage..but fear of staining the inkview windows and the ink is a bear to flush out to clear. I've had to flush a pen literally a hundred times before it ran clear after BSB. Cranking those old piston fillers that many times makes me nervous! I have snapped one or two in my day! Thats my experience...others may have more reasonable and wonderful experiences with BSB. Again, I do love the color!

I have no experience with Nikita Red.
