Has anyone tried BSB and a Lamy Safari or Al-Star? Ive heard of some very negative things about the combination. Has anyone had success?

That topic was actually one of the first of which I'm aware regarding Baystate and staining - a member had found that it irrevocably stained his yellow Safari.
I am not a number
In brief it works great for some (including me) not great for others (section staining on a yellow safari and cases of feed/nib structural failure.

I guess you take your chances and either try it or opt out...

I've had my Al-Star inked with BSB for about a month now and haven't had any problems. There is a thread up in Writing Instruments, though, in which several members have had their feeds break after using BSB. I'm also using it in my Levenger True Writer. My TW is performing better than it ever has, but it looks like there may be some staining on the barrel where I've dipped it for filling. I'm just not certain that it's staining, because I haven't tried to clean the section beyond wiping the section.

I've had may BSB in a Safari for about 3.5 months now. No problems at all.
