My wife is holding my Blue Book hostage, so I can't do my own research on this. I just saw at a local antique store a vintage Waterman lever-filler priced at $15, and I'm trying to figure out if it's worth that or I should seriously try to bargain down. Waterman's aren't my thing, but this one looks in pretty good shape. Didn't have a camera with me, so unfortunately no pictures. The details:

Bronzish-brown, slightly pearlescent body and cap (presumably celluloid)
Nib is engraved with
Ideal
14k
Stiff

Clip is silver with "Watermans" engraved for almost the full length
Large breather hole in cap (larger than I've seen on other pens)
Lever is silver and hinges at the midway point (unless it's actually broken, but I don't think so)

The store is only open for four hours every Friday, so it's going to be another week before I can go and check it out again.

Thanks in advance for help.

Are we talking for later sale or for using yourself? If the latter, it seems that a new sac and you're off to the races, so a $15 isn't a bad deal. If the former... well, then there's a pile of fiddling details regarding model, era, condition &ct. that might make a difference, but I'm still inclined to say to an intact Waterman of pre-50's make, "$15? Why not?"-- and that's with me being church-mouse poor.

I finally managed to take a look at the pen again. Definitely needs a sack, has a few nicks and scratches, the loose clip has put a small gouge in the cap, and it looks like someone poked something into the breather hole in the cap and widened it a smidge. When I told the proprietor that it needed a new sac and was damaged, she said that's why she's selling it for only $20. I didn't mention that three weeks previously she'd told me $15. I told her I might give her $10 for it, and she said no, because there's a street festival coming up, and she typically sells out the store, so she thinks she can get more than $10. We'll see. If it's still there in a few weeks, maybe I'll offer her $8.
