I've been going through postings here and elsewhere looking at the Hero 616. Some pictures show a mixed gold/chrome cap while others show a plain chrome.......

Is there a choice when purchasing or is the gold/chrome cap on the Hero 100?

My 616s all have chrome caps.

I have seen 616s with all-gold caps (clips and cap) but don't own one, just the chrome version.

I think the gold colored ones are less common.

I gather that the Hero 616 has the Chrome cap while the Hero 100 has the Gold clip on the Chrome cap? Based on "Attack Of The Clones - Part 1
by Jim Mamoulides 4/30/04 " the 100 appears to be a much better choice (or at least as of April 2004).

Anybody concur??

I think there is a good bit of variation. The 100s at isellpens (and the one I have) feature chrome caps and clips. I have seen eBay listings for gold (tone) clips and gold tone caps for just about every Hero I have looked for.

616's do come in all gold caps as well as all chrome caps.

The chrome caps are much more common.
