My new CS 100 that I purchased in January 2008 has started leaking ink. I have the pen registered through the online registration that was posted here on FPN.
A little over a month ago the pen developed a leak - I noticed I had ink on my fingers while using it. I checked the cartridge converter and it was messy on the outside too. The insides of the barrel and the cap had ink in them also. It seems to leak only towards the end of the ink suppy, when the converter is full or even half full there doesn't appear to be any leaking.
After reading the boards here I thought maybe it was a bad cartridge converter so I started looking for a replacement. I was finally able to locate one two weeks ago and I tried that converter and again it leaked, same way towards the end of the ink supply. I couldn't tell where the leak was exactly since there was ink in the barrel and ink in the cap as well as over the outside of the converter. I then went and bought some Private Reserve cartridges to see if it leaks with cartridges. Again, once the cartridge was almost empty, the leak showed up and I had ink on my fingers from the ink that had leaked from the section area where the nib comes out of the section. I opened it up and sure enough there was ink on the inside also.
I don't know exactly where the leak is or what is causing it, but the pen leaks no matter if I'm using cartridge or converter. But only at the end of the ink supply.
So a question for Mary: How should I proceed in returning the pen for repair?

I just recently received my pen back and all is well. Total turnaround time was approximately 2 months which included a round trip across the pond for repairs. I must admit that I remain impressed with Conway Stewart. The service was quick and without any resistance. My section was replaced and the new screw-in type converter was installed. I can tell quite a difference in how the section screws on and off the barrel - it is a silky smooth operation now whereas before there was a point of slight resistance. The only glitch was my not realizing that I shouldn't send the pen in for repair in its original box, but Richard Egolf quickly replaced it. Communications was quick and responsive throughout from the time that I posted here, to the time that I received my pen and replaced original box.
Good customer service always make me feel much better about any product I purchase and I will admit that the service provided by Conway Stewart and Mr. Egolf at Luxury Brands was top notch. I am a 'very happy camper'

A big "thank you" to both Richard and to Mary.

GLad this worked out for you.
I do not know about others, but service after the sale is important to me and so I like to hear how companies do with it.
Also, it is nice to get a "thumbs up" when things work out rather than only give out a "thumbs down" when there is a problem.
