Does anyone know if Waterman carts will work in a Pelikan pen? I have Waterman so it would be nice to use them.

Waterman cartridges are the same as the International standard cartridge, and might even be the model for that standard. Any pen that uses International cartridges, whether small or full sized, should be able to use a respective Waterman cartridge. I have a Waterman cartridge in a Pelikano Junior right now and it is puttering along without any difficulties that I can see.

My only Pelikan cartridge pens are the Pelikano and the Steno, and I've used Waterman cartridges in them without any problems at all.

Pelikans are constructed for international carts, so you can go haywire. PR and Diamine make inks in int'l carts as well.

I see by the responses that I may have aborted my opportunity to ask this question as the Waterman cartridges are long not international.
Thank you for your replies. If this question dies I guess Ill have to try again.

Same question, same answers - there are long international and short international cartridges. Waterman cartridges are long international and can be used in Pelikan pens (at least the Pelikano and the Steno, from my experience). I have used them with no problems, numerous times.

PR cartridges, as mentioned above, are short international, and these also fit in my Pelikan pens - I have them in some right now.

It was my understanding that although the Pelikans were International pattern cartridges the Watermans were slightly different by intent. AIR, the necks were supposed to be of different lengths and the shoulder angles were also changed. Most people say they are interchangeable in their pens. A few people say they get leaks with the wrong cartridge.

I ignore the difference, and if I get a leak I will just toss the offending cartridge and rinse the pen out. As always YMMV.

IIRC, Waterman carts are a bit slimmer so in certain Waterman pens, you can't run a normal int'l cart

Ok that answers my question,
I thought international carts were the short ones but I got a specific answer that Waterman will work in my Pelikan
Thank you FPN
