Visconti's got the Metropolis. Aurora's got the Nobile. Stipula has a boatload (DaVinci, Monna Lisa, Verrazzano, Iris, La91, Etruria d'Inverno).
What other models of modern Italian retractables are there?
Goodguy reminded me that I needed to make a shopping list.

Hi,
My only gripe with the Stipula retractables that have no cap is that they dry out if you don't use them for a few days. They are pretty colors though!

Those which haven't a cap, usually close themselves when the nib is inside. Like this Da Vinci Foco Limited Edition, with is retractable as fountain pen and as roller (two in one):

That's definitely true of the La91, but not so true of the DaVinci. I definitely prefer the capless retractables -- the whole uncapping and bringing out the nib on the Metropolis is something that takes more time than I'd like for a quick note.

Hi,
Some time back, I did send some drawings to Stipula with a proposed solution including a sealing mechanism for the door. I'm not the only one with the problem though, we had plenty of discussions on Pentrace about the Davinci and La91 several months ago. Various things like keeping a cup of water, using your morning coffee, etc. were suggested. I'd like to take care of the root of the problem though, and it's a daunting task though because of the way the half-moon door is designed.

I wish I could comment and give you my insight about the Nobile but I am still waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting .
Oh when will I get my Nobile
The waiting game is NOT for me.
