The new Fahrney's catalog has a "mandarin" VP ballpoint listed. From the photo, it looks sort of metallic - but it's hard to tell. I called the store hoping to get a better description of the color, but it isn't in stock yet, so they haven't actually seen it.Does anyone know if this pen is the same color as the yellow limited edition from a few years back? More importantly, are there going to be yellow VP fountain pens available this year?

I thought the mandarin is an older color, though I cannot swear to this. It may well be a new one. Rumor has it purple is coming, though not sure what shade. You can get a "deep yellow" VP from Ujuku's bay store at a very good price.

There was a U.S. LE mandarin yellow in 2003. I heard the color was different from the Deep Yellow sold in Japan. Also note Deep Yellow ones sold in Japan come with steel nib.
