Buzz is right - ebonite doesn't glue well, unless it's a fresh break. Even then it really works only if you have a lap joint or sleeve of some sort.
If we're talking about the section itself breaking, the outward pressure when the nib and feed are inserted will break it again. If the nipple is broken, that can be repaired, but you should send it in for repair to a qualified repair person since a lathe is needed to do it right.
Otherwise, a replacement section is in order.
Thanks to both of you for the information. The pen is a Conway Stewart Churchill BCHR. I'm unlikely to find a replacement nib section. I don't have any broken pieces of ebonite. I do have a "sleeve," specifically, the treaded part of the nib section, which was bonded on it's inside diameter to the bottom of the nib section. It looks like the original bond simply came loose. The pieces "press fit" back together well enough that I could probably use the pen "as is," so long as I don't screw the nib section on the pen body too tightly (because then the threaded part of the nib section would be left in the pen when I try to unscrew the nib section.) Of coure, I would like a more permanent solution, if you could suggest an adhesive that would work. ( Aesthetics aren't a concern, because the area of the bond are not visible when the pen is assembled.) Thanks again for your help!
