Full Version: Waiting for: Underwood of London

I'm not sure if these technically qualify as "Italian" pens, but they're at least Italian designed pens (company is Italian, for various reasons, they have a British name, but the pens are, I believe, made in France).

I'd ordered one from pensinasia, but my pen was crushed in shipping, so I've waited 4-1/2 months to order another. Tay hasn't restocked the model I wanted, unfortunately.

So, I ordered one from Airline International. They didn't have the ebonite model in stock, but the sales rep had some -- in black. However, there's an Underwood person coming to the US for a trade show in a couple of weeks, and they'll slip a pen for me into their luggage.

That's almost like getting a pen made especially for you, right?

(It's an ebonite Piccadilly Stylo.)

My. Precious.

Please do a review when you receive the pen. I have always looked at Underwood but the amount of posts is always so small that information is hard to find.

That is a pretty nice looking pen. Know what? It bears a striking similarity to Jorg Hysek's (sp?) 1990's pens. I wonder if he designed them?
Deirdre
You're right -- the tail in particular looks very Hysek, as does the hoodie.

Based on the hoodie, I'm guessing Dupont might make both.

Oh wow! Tell us more!!! puddle.gif

Dupont! You might be right. I have looked right at the hood a thousand times but it never registered. I have a Dupont Orpheo that writes like a champ. I have written with Hysek pens and they were really nice. I just could not justify the cost and never bought one. If your Underwood writes like the Dupont, you are sure to be happy with it.

Well, I don't have a Dupont, so maybe some research (in the form of pen acquisition) is required. lticaptd.gif

Do you need for me to enable you, or are you sufficiently motivated? wink.gif laugh.gif

I do want a Dupont at some point, but I haven't really looked at them enough to know what one I want.

nice pen, love the shape.... a bit over the budget for me... but in any case a nice gem.
