All, I am new to the forum. I have been "somewhat" collecting limited edition pens over the past few years with an eye toward keeping some and selling others. Now I have a couple of questions...
1. How do I value these things? From an insurance perspective, how do I know what to insure them for as a rider in my home? I can't seem to find any resource online for such a thing. Any help here is appreciated.
2. How and where do I go about selling some? I have had to sell my house (to move for work) and need to come up with some money fast... (gotta love the housing crisis). Any ideas?
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

I am not sure on #1.
For #2, you can sell pens here in the Marketplace forum. There are lots of enthusiastic shoppers there. There are also a lot of pens that get moved through eBay.
You could try selling to a vintage retailer, but you probably won't get as much that way.

#1: I have a rider on my home insurance policy. Speak to your home insurance agent, and they will guide you through the process. However, if you do a search on this board, I think several members do business with a company that specializes in insuring collections.
#2: Many sell on FPN's Marketplace and of course, there's eBay. You could also contact dealers who sell on consignment. There are several who frequent this board.

Hi and welcome here!
1. a. Ask here on the forum what it's worth.
b. Ask your insurance agency what they cover.
2. a. Post a FS offer here on the forum.
b. eBay!
Lots o' luck!!

The price of a fountain pen depends upon:
1. Venue
2. Rarity or interest
3. Condition

Dare I suggest you could also post FS messages on the PenTrace website. Many people post here an there simultaneously.
As to teh insuance question, there was a thread on that many months ago. I just don't know where it was or under what heading. Maybe someone else will remember.
Welcome and good luck with your move and with the pens.

What scribe75 said about Pentrace. Pentrace has some active collectors, and I've had stuff sell over there that wouldn't move here (and vice-versa).
However, if you do that, don't post the picture as an attachment and then refer people over here. It just peeves them.
