Hi,

I own a blue celluloid Omas paragon, bought around 1997 new. It is in a blue faux snakeskin box. Inscriptions read Omas extra and 1993. It has a medium nib.

Is this a special edition?

regards,

Rick

Well, this pen was never a "limited" edition, but I would say it is special for a couple of reasons: number 1, it is no longer made. OMAS stopped making most of the celluloid colors in 2005, so as of now you own a pen that is highly sought after but not in production. 2., since this pen was made before 1995, your nib is an in-house OMAS nib, not a German out-sourced Bock nib. Personally, having owned both, I can't tell much of a writing difference between the in-house nibs and the Bock nibs, but the OMAS-made nibs are excellent for sure and the gold trim seems a bit better applied.

Certainly a beautiful pen; be glad you have one! I certainly love mine. cloud9.gif

Dont have much to tell you about the pen but I can tell you I own a Paragon that was before 2005 and it is a marvel of a pen and the best writer with the best nib I ever had.
Enjoy your pen.

Thanks for the replies. It is indeed a beautiful pen and a nice writer. It is also very light. On the other hand: I am thinking about focussing more on my pelikans and parkers and am considering to sell it. But it I am still hesitant because it is so beautiful. Hmmmmmm.....

Pelikans are great, but generally they a lot easier to come by than out-of-production celluloid Omas. And no modern Pelikan writes quite like a pre 2005 Paragon, so my vote is that you keep it. If you MUST have that Toledo, though, I suppose there's no stopping you. smile.gif
