Thank you, James. It is quite an honor to have our pens reviewed by an exceptional calligrapher like you! Let me wish you a smooth and complete recovery and, please, do post some of your wonderful pages on the pen sites.

Could someone provide additional information about this pen?
Here is a picture I found.

Hopefully Giovanni will be reading and will help.
I don't have a set but if I didn't already have too many Osmiroids and Sheaffers I'd snap up a set. Filcao makes good pens but I don't know how much longer this set will be available in the US and I think it would be hard to go wrong with it. Not sure who carries it but saw it on the Parkville Pens site for a good price (IMO - especially considering that a single Rotring calligraphy pen can cost about $20)
All the $$ I've spent on different types of cheap calligraphy pens, I wish I'd spent on the Filcao. (Though Osmiroid still made some great, sharp nibs)

Ashland, are you in the US? Now that Filcao no longer has a US distributor, I don't know how much longer these sets will be available. I had a set on my wish list and a few weeks ago Dennis at Parkville Pen ( usual disclaimer) announced he was down to his last two sets. I grabbed one of the sets. I have seen no more for sale.
As for information, do you mean history of the pen? I can only reiterate what James said in his review. The single pen barrel is heavy but nicely balanced. I also use my pen unposted. I have only used the 1.1 and 1.9 mm nibs, like James, and they are smooth and produce nice line variation. I would feel more comfortable having another barrel, ot two, and I might try to get one directly from Filcao.

FrankB,
After the Calligrafica was mentioned in response to a post I created about inexpensive fountain pens, I tried to learn more about this set. There is surprisingly little information available online. I found James' review & the picture I shared. Sometimes people on FPN write reviews that mention initial impressions, physical dimensions, and costs. Many have upclose photos of the nibs & barrels.
I wrote Parkerville Pen last week to see if they had any left, but I haven't received a reply.
Thank you,
Ashland

Dennis at Parkville Pen is taking a little break right now, but I'm sure he will get back to you as soon as he is back online. He's a great person with whom to deal.
I have the set, but, frankly, I've never inked it up, so I can't offer anymore information about it, I'm afraid, save that the pen feels more substantial than, say, the Sheaffer calligraphy set pens.

I'm online and conducting business as usual. Sorry, but there are no more Calligrafica sets available since Giovanni stopped importing FILCAO recently. Sold my last set to FrankB who posted above.
